10 years of fun all in one weekend!

Between the 3 different events that we had over reunion weekend, it was great to see so many people. Those of you who could not come, or did not respond to emails REALLY missed out! There are some good pictures on facebook, and there are a few posted here too. Thanks again to Shanna Swinehart for the wonderful picture show, and for her help in choosing a venue, Vanessa Graziano for hooking us up with our AWESOME DJ, Tommy, Jeff Krieger for hosting all of us for Happy Hour, and last to Josh for being a HUGE help in planning all this.

This was a lot of work, but very much worth it to see everyone have such a great time. However, I will be retiring as sole reunion coordinator/planner. I will wither work with a committee of you for our 20 year, or will turn this over to a reunion company. Just food for thought for any of you who are interested.

The reunion festivities begin in 10 days with Happy Hour at Finn McCool's! Thank you to those that have RSVPed via evite for this event.

11 days away is our picnic, then the big party that will close out the weekend. Remember our big party at the Magnolia Club in Denver is a ticketed event. Tickets can only be purchased in advance, (from this site) through June 8th. Tickets will not be on sale at the door, and there will be no refunds, so check your schedule before you buy.

Fun news regarding our BIG PARTY on June 12th:

Nearly 70 people have RSVPed and purchased tickets.

Our DJ is booked, and taking requests of your favorite songs from high school

On June 2nd I will be finalizing our menu

Our reunion is just around the corner, around 40 days away! Thank you to those of you who purchased your tickets early! I can make the next payment of 80% (of rental/food and beverage costs), this week for our BIG PARTY on Saturday June 12th! For those of you who are still up in the air, full-priced tickets can STILL be purchased through Paypal on this page, or if you email me, I can send you my address for sending me a check. Tickets will only be on sale through June 8th! So do not sit on the fence too long.

Emailing me to let me know if you are planning on attending any of the events is helpful, and appreciated. I may even be emailing people individually so I can get a better estimate of numbers and costs in the weeks ahead. So emailing me first, (at arapahoe2000@gmail.com or messaging me on facebook) will save me some time. :)

Also, thank you to those of you who have responded to your evite for Happy Hour. I know Jeff appreciates it.

Gold vs. Black tickets

What is the difference between these options? Black tickets include hors d'oeuvres, dessert, fountain beverages, ice tea, and coffee. Gold tickets include everything that a black ticket does, with unlimited beer and wine as well.

In addition to the drinks mention above, there will be a CASH BAR- this means more options of alcohol beverages on a pay as you go basis, NOT included in either black or gold ticket prices. Here is the Magnolia Club's cash bar prices (as of 2/2010):

House $7.00 each

Call $8 each

Top Shelf $9 each

Domestic Beer $7 each

Imported and Microbrew Beer $8 each

House Martinis $10 each

Wine by the glass $8 each

Champagne by the glass $8 each

So if you think you will only have 1-2 beers, or glasses of wine, then buying a black ticket and paying for your alcohol via the cash bar is your best bet, but if you plan on having more than 2 of these drinks, you will want to buy the gold ticket.

After talking with my contact at the Magnolia Hotel, she has agreed to give me a little more time before putting 80% of our payments down. This is FANTASTIC news for me, because as much as I like all of you, I do not plan on paying for this party. :) We are doing quite well on ticket sales, but I would like to get 25-50 more tickets sold to feel good about this from the perspective of my family's finances.

This is also fantastic news for those of you who have not bought your tickets. Ticket prices will remain $85 for a Gold ticket (beer and wine included), and $65 for a Black ticket (no alcohol), through May 1st. On May 2nd, ticket prices go up for each ticket by $10.

Tickets can be purchased on this website via paypal, or you can email, or message me on facebook to get my info to send a personal check. I will not take personal checks after May 12th. Overall tickets sales will be cut off on June 7th.

If you are looking for a room at the Magnolia, we do have a block of rooms reserved for our event. Our quoted "group rates" in our contract will be honored for 3 days before and 3 days after our June 12th party. Those rates (per night), are $129 for a standard king room, $139 for a double queen, and $159 for a suite. To book a room with these rates (using a AAA card might also help), call the Magnolia's reservation line at 1-888-915-1110 by MAY 12th, 2010! Make sure you identify yourself as part of our group, (Arapahoe High School Reunion). Email me if you have any problems with this.

Hey everyone! Tickets to our big June 12th party are now on sale. You can purchase them from this site, via credit card. Tickets are non-refundable. Buy your tickets on or before April 4th and you will get to take advantage of an early purchase discount. Tickets will go up by $10 on April 5th. If you need other payment options, email me at arapahoe2000@gmail.com.

You will not get a physical ticket per se, but once you have purchased your ticket, your name, and your date's name will be put on a list. I am still ironing out some things, so you may need to email your date's name to me. Hopefully I will have that added on Paypal soon.

Remember, this event is an after dinner party. There will be hors d'oeuvres, dessert, beer, wine, and soft drinks, but do plan on eating dinner before the party.

Dates and venues are set, so get your travel plans arranged for the weekend of June 11-12th.

Friday June 11: Happy hour at Finn McCool's (Time TBA in the evening)

Saturday June 12: 11-1pm, Tour and picnic at Arapahoe (BYO Food and drinks- at this point)

Saturday June 12: 8-midnight, After-dinner party at the Magnolia Club of the Magnolia Hotel

The only thing left to get going is setting up online ticket purchasing. The only event that will have an upfront charge will be the cocktail party on June 12th. Plan on tickets being between $40-60/person. Tickets prices will increase in price the closer it gets to the party, so as soon as they go on sale, you will want to buy them early!

If you are looking for a place to stay, there is a block of rooms reserved for members of our class at the Magnolia Hotel in Denver. Mention this when you book a room because it will be at a discount!
